Hyderabad: Public sector Bank of Baroda successfully conducted the 7th edition of its flagship programme, ‘Baroda Kisan Pakhwada,’ aimed at empowering farmers through innovative and technology-driven banking solutions. Spanning two weeks, the Hyderabad Zone, covering Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, hosted 70 outreach events, engaging over 3,700 farmers and sanctioning agricultural loans worth nearly `25 crore.
This year’s Baroda Kisan Pakhwada emphasized digital banking initiatives for the agricultural sector, introducing key offerings such as the Digital Baroda Kisan Credit Card (BKCC) and the Digital Gold Loan. These solutions are designed to streamline banking processes for farmers, leveraging technology to make financial services more accessible.
The Digital Baroda Kisan Credit Card, integrated with the Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH), enables the bank to fetch digital land records and farm-related information for seamless loan approvals. The end-to-end digital process, from customer onboarding to disbursement, is already operational in 17 states, with plans for expansion. Similarly, the Digital Gold Loan allows farmers to apply for loans conveniently via the bank’s digital lending platform.
Strengthening Farmer Engagement Speaking about the programme, Shri Ritesh Kumar, General Manager & Zonal Head, Bank of Baroda, Hyderabad Zone, said, “The Baroda Kisan Pakhwada demonstrates our unwavering commitment to India’s farmers. This year, we focused on expanding digital solutions like the Digital BKCC and Digital Gold Loan to make banking easier and more accessible for the agricultural community.
